MEMORAND
Wednesday. 27th January, 1915.
For the names of the Committee and the candidates interviewed see the attached sheet.
COLLEY seemed to be of the right type for this appointment, but he had specialised almost entirely in Modern Languages, and he had not had any experience in teaching ordinary subjects since he was a pupil teacher. He is a pleasant looking healthy person though rather unresponsive, and gave no clear reasons for wishing to go to Hong Kong. The Committee felt that they might be able to get a more suitable person if the post were advertised again and they decided to do this.
WILSON was an intelligent looking person who had applied for the post because it was suggested to him by Professor Welton. He is however essentially a specialist in Science work, and was not particularly attracted to this
post. Some members of the Cormittee thought that he would be suitable for the vacant Professorship at the Training
College at Allahabad. He said that he would be glad to go
to India.
